Timpy no Go.

So yesterday Johnney Mac and Vizzle M climbed a rocky mountain. Oh yes. Not just any rocky mountain. Inspired by Sigourney Weaver and her narration of Planet Earth on the Discovery channel, we hiked up Mount Timpanogos to see the caves.

The hike is roughly 1.5miles and 1300 feet high, so it's a steep climb. At some points I felt like crawling. At other points I was using my hands to move my thighs. Yonny man claimed it was called the Jon McDonald technique. I told him I'd been doing it for years. Especially the crawling one, when I used to crawl run up my Grandma's stairs in Ireland. her stairs were steep. I actually would struggle to adjust to the shallow stairs in Glasgow after spending an entire summer hiking up the stairs in my Grandma's house.

Anyway... Timpa-no-go was fantastic. We went when it just got overcasty, so it wasn't too hot, and it actually rained a couple of times while going up the hill. We, apparently, shot up that mountain though, and got there long before our cave tour time. Which means we got up there in like 30-40 minutes. Which isn't bad at all. For a couple of pure amateurs.

Surprisingly the entire way up we were looking forward to coming back down, but it was actually a thousand time worse coming back down. Granted there wasn't the pull of going up, but there was different muscles being used for balance and eventually we were just a big pile of limbs slapping about on the paved path.

I was a bit too photographic happy the entire time. So this is Jonnyman modelling my water bottle which he so nicely carried half way up the hill. I ALWAYS over pack.

This is something... inside the cave... it's awesome though.

This was our guardian chipmunk... chip and or dale the rescue ranger. He actually posed for pictures.

And I couldn't resist the re-inactment of this little beauty from Zion's park three years ago. Almost to the day. I think I was in Zions on the 7th of July 2006.

That skirt is fantastic and the only thing that can be worn while hiking in the mormon mountains. I think it's the only time I wore this skirt, and while we were walking through some part of the park I said to my cousin something like 'Right, i'm just going to go and ask the next random person if my skirt is ugly.' And right as I finished saying the question we walked past some people (who hadn't heard the conversation kate and I were having), but the woman in the group said 'yes, it is.'

Without knowing it, her conversation and our conversation combined to create a unison conversation. Fantastic.

Anyway... the gist is... I climb mountains once every three years. Wearing the exact same pair of shoes.. I kid you not. They look cleaner now because I washed them in the washing machine a wee while ago. Mega.
