There's a blog I read, of a friend of a friend. She lives in Salt Lake. I've never met her, but she commented the week before I got back to Salt Lake that the outdoor pool was open.
yes.... theeee outdoor pool. The one from last year that gave me that nasty nasty nasty sunburn. That very self same outdoor pool.
Before coming here I stood in boots complaining about how pricey sun lotion is. £10. Basically. But in boots you get buy one get one free.
So I was going to just stock up on my 15 x 2 bottles. but on their chart it suggested that salt lake should be 40 - 50 spf. So, I got my 15spf for regular day use, and my 40spf for swimming.
yesterday I lathered myself in cream and hit the pool. Oh how wonderful.
I didn't want to stay out too long because I was totally paranoid. It was 4pm, and the sun was lower than it was last year.
Stats:
200m front crawl
200m breast stroke
200m FC legs
100m butterfly
300m FC paddles and fins
100m swim down.
Remember that this this pool is 50m in length, so to do one lap you've done the equivalent of 4 in a normal pool. It feels pretty awesome.
There is just pure love pouring from me for that pool.
I rented another violin the other day and I didn't see the chinese guy, just his staff man – who punished me for not buying a sale violin by giving me an ugly case and a worn shoulder rest. Thing is, I bought that violin outright and they'll refund me when I bring it back. Last time they gave me everything new, this time, i feel robbed. never mind though, eh.
Nice wee violin, sounds slightly out of tune though, just ever so slightly, I think it's just because it's not what i'm used to and it's my fingers that are out of tune... oh out of tune.
speaking of which.. i need to get ready and practice before I am collected for the day.
