I'm tired and a half. I can't move my arms. Ugh. Everything else I planned to do this evening/afteroon has been put off because I swam too much. My face also hurts because my water was in chemicals so much.

Adbusters Excitement/One Flag.
So, I entered the adbusters One Flag competition back in December/end of november. I had the idea for my flag weeks before, months before. I drew it the night before, on one of my last nights with the boy before heading home at christmas time.
I used all pencils and paper from his studio too. I am a moucher.
Anyway...
I got an email at the beginning of january asking for a better quality picture of my flag.
I got my Mother to scan it and I edited the fold marks. Oddly enough I considered throwing it out weeks before that email came. I'm glad I kept it.
It is now in the newest issue of adbusters. I have a whole page to myself, and my flag, and my entry has been narrowed down to the top 30 or something, from over a thousand entries. The final vote is up to the public and their voting.
So if you like my flag idea then please vote for it.
http://www.adbusters.org/campaigns/oneflag/entries/eternal_round.html
I like it. I like the concept more than the rubbish excuse attached to it... i've always said that my degree was in Bull****ing.

Choke.
I don't know if I blogged about this when I saw the movie originally, but I loved Choke. Yes, it's major dodge. I just love the meaning and the reason behind all of Palahniuk's books though, and I love that I don't have to read this one now, it's already been visualised for me – technically.
Anyway. I'm still reading survivor. The longest it's ever taken me to finish a Chuck book, but that's because i'm distracted by one particular boy :):):)
Choke was released on dvd the other day, and I have since been able to slice and splice to get the ending of the movie that I loved so much. I think that's what I enjoy most about Chuck books, it's the random quotes and life coaching that he gives throughout the whole thing.
Throw out your chicken soup for the soul and all other self help books. Chuck Palahniuk novels tell it how it is and give more life advice than any other fiction or non-fiction book (excluding Lds chuch doctrine).
Of course, Fox are being idiots and have taken my video down before I could even post the link. Baws.
Right...
I'll just have to self host. Pah.
I fiddled with this for ages and eventually went back to my photobucket account and uploaded it there. Youtube nazis. gah.
A giant version exists here
I would also like to comment that Kelly MacDonald is fantastic, and that, if you look closely at the end you can see her BCG mark that we all, as Britons, proudly sport.

I just cut my own hair...
... well the fringe part of it anyway.
There's nothing words can say to describe those 40 minutes of my life.
Here are some pictures.
I don't think I did too terribly. I took a little bit off the length as well... it's not really that noticeable though, and there's now a pile of hair in the bin and in the sink, and down the drain and on my cardigan.
What's alarming though, is that the way I parted my hair at the side was the exact spot for Re-Finding my gray hair.... and it's now duplicated. Seriously. Duplicated. I've tried to highlight the two guys as much as possible.
The first time I found that gray hair was on my way out of the swimming pool, on my way to institute before my first date with Jon. I wanted to look good for that date so I had brought my hairdryer to the pool with me. Call me crazy. But I found a gray hair while drying my hair. What's puzzling is that I thought it was on the other side before. So maybe there are more than 2.
My mother went gray when she was 19 so i've done well holding out until now. Not bad at all.
And, I might add... all of my hair was cut with a single blade razor and a normal pair of scissors. How Hipster of me.

Tuesday Stats
I've been fighting off a cold/flu thing for the past week. My immune system is pretty solid because I partake of Astragulus every day, and i've been taking it for almost a year.
so when I get sick i'm still functioning, i just get symptoms one at a time and they don't really hurt or irritate me. Last week I had a headache all week, all week. It was one of those low, dull, niggling, constant ones. Lame.
And this week I have a sore throat. Although I think that's going away today.
Last week I also fell over a number of times and bruised a lot of myself, so I think i had ear ache as well, but on a miniscule scale.
I went swimming yesterday, because it boosts the immune system and makes things happy again – doing exercise that is. I think it also spreads disease and infection to anyone else in the water. Alas. I am a cow.
However, I wasn't really feeling it, so my session was back to normal and I was swimming 2000yds in 55 minutes. I hate not having a meter pool here. Really. That extra meter and a half makes all the difference to my stroke.

I then walked to the institute building and bumped into Poulson and he sat with me through the lecture, which was rather interesting, given that a year ago he and I were not friends. Hmmm. Alas. His eyes were as bloodshot as ever. As soon as it ended I walked off, drifted per say. I wasn't going to hang about and boost his ego or something by looking like I wanted to be part of his crew and talk to him and what not.
On my walk to the institute building my hair froze. it was quite spectacular. I tried to take pictures of it, but it didn't really come out too well.
I only had me wee camera with me, but I wish I had had my big one with a tripod there would have been some beautiful shots with a slow shutter speed. Alas. I was on foot and public transport so I was trying to travel as light as possible. Here's a couple of potential shots that would have been better with the Big Canon.
On my way home on the trax there was a random man, that I thought was my friend Matt, but wasn't, and I'm so pleased that I didn't sit next to him and talk to him. But this half Jamaican was taking pictures of random people on the train, and he took like 2 or 3 of me. I didn't care so much. I think if I did that would make me a hypocrit. I have a crap load of pictures of people that I thought looked cool. I'm just a bit more subtle at picture taking than this stoner was.
Anyway, my favourite sign on the trax, and I don't know if i've blogged about this before, but I love it is this one:
Shirt and Shoes is a requirement. Always remember that.
I was wearing my Uggs yesterday and my feet were cosier than a sheep. Well as cosy as a sheep. So I was taking some pictures for a blog that I contribute to called Gypsy Feet, owned by the awesome Laura. None of these really worked out or captured the essence of what I was going for. That and Uggs aren't made for the snow. Contrary to popular belief. They are not water proof, they stain in the snow and wet, and they don't have a good grip. In fact, while walking in these after being in the snow I felt like I was elevated 2cm off the ground. The snow just caked to the bottom, it was weird. I also decided to risk the potential of stainage to get some good golden boot shots in the snow. I'm sad none of them turned out good enough. Maybe I'll go out again today with my big camera. Once I get some work done. :)
Also, if anyone has any freelance design work that needs doing, give me a bell. Vizzle M needs work and money.

Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Over the years there have been very few programmes that I have loved to the point that I arrange my life around seeing episodes. Thanks to the internet I don't have to do that so much anymore.
But here are the ones that I love:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Popular
Friends (although I gave up after season 7 because of Buffy. I went to uni and buffy and friends were on at the same time and my mum could only tape one.)
Lost
Heroes
Ugly Betty
Pushing Daisies
Dead Like Me
Heroes, however, now sucks. I still watch it though, it doesn't completely suck, but after every episode i'm left with questions about holes in the plot. They definitely stretch their audience to see what they get away with. Although, what I find fascinating is how the evil guy, is now the mediocre guy. No one really worries about him so much. And I think for that actor's career it's a good thing. Because he would forever be cast an typeset in evil roles, but now he is in more of an empathetic role with a slight twist of humour, as this closing scene of the latest episode shows.
yes he's murdered a lot of people for his own personal gain, which is probably a commentary on society as it stands and is today.
Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est? Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better.

I'm watching Donnie Darko and I'm on this scene right now.

I love it.
I love that Donnie doesn't even get involved in the whole 'good morning' nonsense. Seriously. Participation isn't necessary or fun. He and I are alike. I also see a giant bunny rabbit.

Dress.
So, I found this dress on ebay a while ago, in a size 2. The 0 fitted but was a little tight. So I was humming and hawing over what size and if it would fit and if I wanted to pay £130 for it, and this and that and the next thing. Then I was speaking to ericka yesterday and she said do it. It's for Toni's wedding and subsequently will be used to Mary's wedding. Hopefully neither one will notice.
Anyway, I ended up pushing buy it now and then felt so utter unappeased because it wouldn't let me bid because I was british. There was a block on the .co.uk accounts. So I emailed the girl and asked if I could bid. I then got out of bed (because it was 2pm), and started cleaning.
I scrubbed the toilet, bleached all the sinks (three of them), changed bed sheets, cleaned the coffee table, did all the dishes, sewed two belt loops on a pair of trousers that had broken (I did a soild job of that I might add, while watching scrubs and Dead Like Me), Washed and dried the other bed sheets, folded some washing, cleaned all the worktops and I think that was it. Then I signed in online again to see if my email had been answered. It had. I was now able to bid. Two hours had passed. I went onto the page and couldn't find the buy it now button. It had gone. Where was it. Then I realised the auction had ended and I had not won. Someone else had bid in the two hours I had waited for the dress to be open to me. So mad. So mad. I felt like I was being punished for cleaning or something.
I was in a huff and a half.
Right before going to bed I checked ebay out of general curiosity to see if there was any more of the dress just listed. My chances were slim, I doubted it greatly, however... this was on offer.
I didn't know what to do... a size 4. Would it be too big. Stupidly I emailed the person asking if they had a size 2 (because the listing says such things). I got a reply this morning that they only had the 4 or a 0. 10 seconds later I bought the 4. Here's hoping it works out. We'll know in 3-5 days. It's coming from Arizona, so hopefully it won't be too long.
EXCITED DOT COM. The best part about it is that I can leave it here until may as well. Awesome.
So that was the excitement for my day.
I think, today, I might start writing my novel again and or do a typographic piece. I miss doing typography for arts sake.
I am Vikki T Miller Mdes Bdes (Hons) MISTD (member of the international society of typographic designers) afterall. M M M M EGA.
and when they were assessing my work submitted for that title they looked at mine as one of the first and used it to compare all the other work to. I set the standard for entry. I kid you not. So anyone that got better than me got commendations.
One day, I hope my letters are FISTD. Ahhhh the STD. I love them. I also owe them money. Maybe i'll ask to be in their club next year again.

Lost Season 5
OH MY GOSH.... AMAZING AND A HALF.
I just watched the first three episodes of the new season in a row and almost died... there's still 2 more to go before I'm caught up, but I can't watch all five, i'm attempting to show some kind of restraint. Eep.
So good.
Unlike heroes, it never disappoints.

Does what it says on the tin:
This song makes me happy inside. It reminds me of summers working at Good, back in 2006 with Rufus, Ultan, Chris, Daz, Mandy, Leslie, Steph, Keith, Chris L, Helen and Wendy. Amazing.

Cosby.
This weekend was an intersting one.
We had a weekend kitten. Cutest little darling thing.
A few weeks ago Jon decided that he wanted a pet and that he could actually own a cat.
Anyone that knows me, KNOWS that i love cats more than any other animal.
Over the years I've had budgies, I've had fish, I've had dogs. But I have never bonded with any of them like I have bonded with Sooty and now Zero.
When Sooty died there was a void in my life for years, then Zero filled it. I love that cat more than anything.
So, I'd been checking the local classifieds looking for a kitten for Yonnyman, and then on Saturday we decided to go to the shelters and see what they had on offer. I tell you, I have never been so depressed in all my life.
To go from the happiest place on earth two weeks ago to the most depressing place on earth was hard. I wanted to save all those cats, they were so wonderful. They were mostly a year or two old. I was miserably and a half. So beautiful they all were. Cramped in their little boxes, sleeping in their own cat litter. It was horrific.
I've had many a discussion with Jon about animals and how an animal is for life and it's not disposable. And he has the argument of 'they are just animals and human life should be valued more, if not then why are we so religious'.
There's no swaying him on that one. I've tried. I think there's just something about caring for another animal that bonds me to it forever. I could never just give my cat to someone else because circumstances in my life change. It's pure selfish. Anyway, We tried two different shelters and all the animals had sneezes and they were a little bit crazy and had shelter issues. It's hard for cats because they hold such grudges.
We went to a PetCo to see if they had an adoption viewing thing that day and they did. That's where we found Cosby. Her name was Snickers, and she was the most beautiful thing. Of course, Jon wanted an animal that was lively and not dead looking, and that's what he got :)
She was a fiesty wee beast, she enjoyed scratching the carpet which looks like a giant scratch post, and she loved biting and scratching. And on Sunday afternoon she enjoyed using the green rug in Jon's living room as her litter box. Little did she know hours later she would be back in a box and living in a cage again.
On Saturday night the little vixen bit Jon... which Kittens do... and which animals with issues do. I was attempting to explain that. Then the area which Jon had been bitten started to itch. His eyes got dry, his nose started to run and he was sneezing. His hand puffed up in the bitten area. And I officially confirmed, with the help of wikipedia, that Jon himself is, in fact, allergic to cats.
Not only did this stress me out to no end on Saturday with worry about the fate of Cosby, but then I started worrying about the future future and the possibility that I might have to choose between Zero and my boy. I shouldn't have to choose between my baby and him though, that's unfair of the world.
Anyway, back to Cosby. She was lively, awesome and she seemed happy. I was sad that we had to take her back and I actually cried stupidly because she was gone. I know she'll be rehomed, but still, she was kind of mine for a while, and although I hadn't fully bonded with her yet, I'd still bonded enough to feel like she was something more to me than someone elses cat.
Gutted.
Anyway... that cute little face was amazing. And I'm still really upset about the whole thing. Emotionally teased.
My homage to the kitten face:
Every day I pray that by some miracle he won't be allergic to black cats.

25 Random Facts.
Okay, I'm stealing this idea from Laura. I've been tagged about a million times on facebook, three of them just happened in the last hour.
1. I was drawn by a comic book artist and appeared for 10 frames as a character in Bear number Seven by Jamie Smart.
2. When I was in high school Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin was my favourite song while everyone else loved the Spice Girls.
3. Pasta with grated cheese on top is my favourite food.
4. I used to be terrified of death, and disease and going blind or losing limbs and I would end up upset in school because of using acid in chemistry or learning about nuclear bombs. (I was bullied to say the least.)
5. I used to always want to live in California and work for disney
6. I wanted to be Kelly Kapowski when I was small, so I could date Zack Morris and go to American High school (snap on that one Laura)
7. I have two surgical scars, one accidental scar, and one scar that didn't need stitches on my small finger on my right hand where my mum jammed it in a door when I was 3.
8. I love cats but I only want to ever own one at a time and it must always be a black female cat.
9. Small children terrify me, until they can jump I want nothing to do with them.
10. I always wanted to be and still want to be a an author(ess).
11. The number 11 haunts me, and I base a lot of my decisions around seeing that number.
12. It took me a year, £2,500, 5 driving tests, 5 instructors and seven cars to pass my driving test.

14. I have two regrets in life not seeing Radiohead in August in Glasgow 2008, and not seeing Silverchair in Utah in November 2007.
